ZINK: THE MYTH, THE LEGEND, THE ZEBRA on May 8 - 18
Market House Theatre will present the comic drama “Zink: The Myth, The Legend, The Zebra” on May 8-11 and 17 -18 in its Studio Theatre located at 120 Market House Square.
“Zink” is a story of true courage in the face of unpredictable predators. Becky, a 10 year old girl, has just been diagnosed with cancer, and is introduced to a scary world of hospitals and chemotherapy. But she doesn’t have to go through this alone – she’s got a trio of singing zebras to keep her company! A zebra herd from the Serengeti Plain forges a special spiritual bond with Becky and they boost her spirits by telling her the story of Zink, a polka-dotted zebra with the most courage and the biggest heart. Imaginative, funny, and heartbreaking, the zebras teach Becky to live as Zink lived, discovering the power of her uniqueness and the unbeatable spirit of her own heart
Sydney Hughes plays Becky, with Marsha Cash as her mother, Michael Cochran as her father, and Sawyer Rambo as her brother Lee. Betty Wise plays Nurse Pat, with Kathy Eckelkamp as Mrs. Belcher. Erika Edwards plays Ashley, Starla Hicks portrays Darlene and Shannon Eckelkamp plays Sara.
Becky’s Zebras are played by Adrianna Fitch as street-smart Ice Z, and Madison Whelan and Grace Allen as twins Zip and Zap. Judd Cavitt plays Papa Zeke, Maria Miller is Zilch, and Nicki Caturano is Zuzi. The Zebra herd is completed by Jamie Hagood, Katelin Burchett and Zach Stone.
